Dental

As the pillar of dental refining, we process thousands of troy ounces of dental scrap monthly. Our experienced smelters use the latest technology to ensure that your dental materials are safely and efficiently refined to maximum value. Our proprietary dental flux formulations ensure our customers the highest possible yields in the refining industry.

OUR DENTAL REFINING PROCESS

LGS is one of the largest dental refiners in the country, our expertise lay in refining PGM's, also known as platinum group metals found in dental alloys. We are exceptionally proficient at reclaiming platinum group metals, providing fast turnarounds and high returns.

Our dental refining process is one that is often imitated, but truly never duplicated. Time after time, our superior process and chemical expertise lead to unmatched results.

Each incoming shipment or batch undergoes an extensive check-in and sorting process. Materials are meticulously categorized, cataloged, weighed, and photographed.

Prior to melting, we introduce an additional step. A rigorous process of sorting and wet chemical separation eradicates all impurities and contaminants. No mere amalgamation or casual addition of copper to the end product – we transcend expectations.

Once impurities are eradicated, dental remnants or implants combine with a proprietary chemical flux. This flux expunges any lingering artificial and non-precious metal-bearing impurities and is a closely guarded secret exclusive to LGS. Our flux, a catalyst for extraordinary recovery rates, remains unrivaled by industry norms.

The molten metal and fluxes are homogenized inside our induction furnaces. A pin tube sample is taken from each melt. The contents of the crucible are poured into a mold and are allowed to cool naturally.  The resulting bar undergoes a ritual of weighing, sampling, and documentation.

Both the sample and bar undergo scrutiny, subjected to electronic and chemical analyses that ascertain the precious metal content with 99.99% accuracy. Contact us to find out more.
